The 2026 season for the Rosebery Toorak Football Club is not far from starting and the club has announced their senior coach for the year.
Former player Duncan Murfet will head the seniors, and he comes with years of football experience.
Murfet’s journey with Rosebery Toorak began in 1993, after moving to Rosebery for work. What’s kept him involved ever since is the mateship, the people, and his strong belief that football clubs are vital to the strength and survival of small communities.
With 40 years in football, Murfet has played with Latrobe, North Launceston, Hillwood, and Rosebery Toorak, and has coached both juniors and seniors at RTFC for many years. His passion lies in helping young players develop and supporting the club whenever it’s needed.
As a coach, Murfet focuses on effort, preparation, and a team-first mindset. He believes success isn’t measured by wins alone, but by whether players can walk off knowing they’ve given their best. He values leadership at all levels and creating an environment where everyone feels equal and respected.
Looking ahead to 2026, Murfet is excited to build competitiveness, support the club’s young talent, and continue the strong culture of commitment and respect that defines RTFC.
